I just got an iPad and when i switch it ON it just shows the USB cable and an arrow pointing to iTunes icon...cant navigate through it and all. What must i do to be able to go through all applications

Plug the USB from the iPad into your computer and launch iTunes follow the prompts.

Yes - as the previous responder said you absolutely have to connect to your PC or Mac *with the latest version of iTunes installed*. So, if you don't have the latest version, download it before you start. Forum members have reported all sorts of problems when using older versions of iTunes.

The requirement to sync with iTunes is annoying; I have a friend who bought an iPad and doesn't have a PC. But you do only *need* to do it once. I don't think anyone has found a way around this step, so you need to grin and bear it.

There are advantages, though, I found. It automatically set up my email accounts on the iPad and transferred all my contacts and bookmarks.
