I am having a problem downloading books from the public library. The librarian told me I could "do not authorize" instead of using an adobe ID but I cannot find where to do that.

Have you downloaded Adobe Digital Editions? If you have, you more than likely created an Adobe ID which you do need with Overdrive for the iPad. If you don't have an Adobe ID, get one.

Pretty sure you have to have an Adobe ID in order to use OverDrive on the iPad.
