Pairing iPad itouch

Hi I'm new to iPad but I have had itouch for a while.

My contacts are on my itouch how do I get them over to iPad.
I sync iPad to itouch in iTunes but contacts didn't come over.
Can I Bluetooth ? Haven't been able to pair setting are on both devices.
Do I need an app? Am I missing something.

There is far more simpler way.
I have my contacts linked to my google contacts, I set up the exchange settings on my touch,iPhone and I pad ( google sync google contact to iPhone)... Poof - contacts are now synced to all devices and my gmail account.
If I make a change through any device, the change is updated on all devices.
You will need a gmail account for this.
