PDF's in ibooks

Is there a way to rename the PDF's that I have saved to iBooks? These are PDF's that I have saved from the net or some are PDF's that I have scanned. When I scanned them I gave them the name I wanted but when they were placed in iBook the title was changed to a bunch of numbers and letters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also sometime the cover is the first page of the PDF (which is nice), and sometime it's just brown with a bunch of numbers and letters.

Just right-click and select "Get Info" in iTunes. You can make all changes you want to how the entry displays (including cover art and sorting) in iTunes or iBooks.

Thank you. Does your first sentence mean it can only be done in iTunes?

Only in iTunes, yes.

I have tried to rename the PDF on iTunes but it seems no changing when i sync and then looked at my iBook library..is there any ideas?
