I've just updated the OS to V7 and find that the Photos App now has a white background. I consider that photos are best viewed with a black bacground but cannot see how this can be changed. Can anyone help a beginner? Thanks, GrahamCS

I'm afraid that the white background in the photos app cannot be changed to any other colour. You would have to find another photos app in the AppStore that would give you what you want.

If you tap on a thumbnail you get the photo with a white background and some controls/menus. If you tap on the photo again you'll get a full screen view, with black boarders/background (if the image does not fill screen). You can then swipe through the collection without going back to the white background; unless you want to go back the controls/menus or thumbnails, that is.

Hi TP - I've been playing w/ the Photo App on iOS 7.0.2 and noticed that great tip, also - should help the OP - Dave :)

I don't know if it will be much of a help, but it's all that can be done; within the Photos app anyway.

I also like a black background when viewing photos, or at least a dark neutral gray.

Many thanks, twerppoet, your advice worked well & the extra 'tap' is no great deal. I'll now continue browsing with pleasure.
