Photos not in order when moving to a folder

I don't have a problem with downloading photos from the PC/camera as I use the Ipad-SD adapter. My problem is when I transfer photos from several different days from the camera roll to a new folder they appear in trhe new folder out of sequence. Any ideas? Regards
