Photos used as a wallpaper

I am having a problem with photos on my iPad 3
Until recently I was able to take a photo from my camera roll on my iPad and use it successfully as a wallpaper however lately when I try this or even use photos I have used successfully in the past to create a wallpaper they turn out huge and over fill the iPad screen.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can correct it.
I don't recall changing any settings.

Hi Harry and welcome to the forum! My guess is that has only been happening since you upgraded to iOS 7.x That's a problem we've all experienced and is a less salubrious feature of the latest system update. Here's a thread where some of us discuss/lament about it:

There are workarounds by downloading some apps. I've downloaded Wallax but still generally use photos that will not cause me those wallpaper distortions.
