Play speed of downloads

I'm experiencing a problem with the iPad that also happens with iPhone. After downloading a file, in this case a podcast, the speed is played too fast when you listen to the file. It sounds more like Alvin the chipmunk how do I correct this?

There is an option for 2x playback of podcasts. When you playback a podcast look for the the little envelope with a number on just under the scrubbing bar to the right, click on it until it says 1x instead (or 1/2x if youy want it really slow).
