playerextreme app and the ipad /drive

i downloaded this app that's supposed to play a multitude of media files including divx. when i opened it, it defaulted to \my drive\downloads

if i want to get my divx files into the \my drive\downloads folder, must i

1...always do so through itunes and how do i do that
2...is there a way to bypass itunes (there is a site where some guy shows how to bypass itunes to download mp3's on an ipOd)

btw, i am lost in itunes 8. i do not know where's what. help

Many third party media apps have several ways to get content into the app to play. A very common one is the ability to create a web interface so you can jump on your PC or Mac's browser and "upload" media using a basic interface.

Some apps also have the ability to access network shares, media player, and DLNA devices to stream content to the app.

In most cases, you won't need itunes to transfer files.
