PLEASE HELP, unlocking problems

Hi, my i recently forgot my password on my ipad, and so i went on youtube to find out how to restore my ipad to factory settings. i clicked on the restore button, it downloaded, but then said that this IPHONE had a error with the softwere. Everytime i now plug in my IPAD it says its a IPHONE. PLEASE HELP. thank you.

I have a feeling you've downloaded iPhone software to your iPad, if your not Jailbroken and don't mind going to iOS 5.1 then plug your iPad into your computer start iTunes and hit the restore button there, you may need to use DFU mode, details can be found here.
