Pop up problem

Not even sure if that's the correct name but an extremely persistent website offering a competition for a free ipad comes up on both Chrome (my preferred browser) and Safari.
Popup blockers are enabled.

Try clearing history and data in both Safari (Settings > Safari) and in the Chrome app. Sometimes websites manage to plant persistent cookies that spew ads across more than their own site.

Thanks, just deleted history and cookies but it's still there.
The desired website loads, then it clicks over to the spammer.

When you deleted your browsing history and cookies did you have airplane mode turned on? If not try it that way and reboot the iPad before turning off airplane mode. That's always worked for me when it happens.

Chrome: No, still "redirects". Hmm.. did it once, told me I'm now protected by Onavo and let me go back to the site.

Safari: Now OK.
