Hello folks, I just bought a 16gig ipad mini with wifi and AT&T cellular connectivity. I need to be able to off load files to SD cards. I've jailbroken an iPod touch in the past without any problems however I have one concern with the mini. What are the risks (if any) to my ability to connect though cellular if I jailbreak and if there are any, what (if any) alternate options are there? Thanks in advance.

The vulnerability of your jailbroken device is the same as that of a stock device. There's no real threat to your device unless someone physically has your device in their hands with malicious intents. And the threat has to be specifically tailored for your device if they're looking to target your device really.

Dropbox might be one way to go. Not a direct transfer, but would work.
If jailbroken, install OpenSSH thru Cydia and WinSCP on your target PC and that would work pretty well.
I have heard of adapted camera connection kits being able to access an SD card, but you might want to dig into that a little further...not completely sure about that.
