Problem: Ipad 2 not allowing me to download anything.

My Ipad 2 has stopped allowing me to download from itunes. Before I got the IOS 6 there was no problem, now it just won't do it. I wonder if something is wrong with the authentication procedure, because it's not asking for my password and then it says "cannot connect to iTunes." I'm do this while being connected to good wifi, so it shouldn't be an issue. I can't say that it never works, because once and a while it has asked for the password and then it succesfully downloads from itunes, but I never know when this will happen.

Please help me! Any help would be much appreciated.
