Problem with old jailbreak

I did the jailbreak few yrs back but wanted to restore my Ipad to original firmware. So I d/l the latest iTunes and restored my Ipad but when I go to click update firmware it says I have the most up to date firmware at 5.1.1. I do not care about my old apps games as I restored and all gone I just want to be on the latest firmware

For iPad 1, 5.1.1 is the latest software. Your iPad is up to date.

You can't. The latest software an iPad 1 gets it 5.1.1.

That sinks. ...i really wanted 7.** firmware. Any idea of 1st gen will ever get that firmware?

I'm afraid not. The iPad 1 has hardware limitations that make it incapable of running anything higher than iOS 5.1.1.
