In Safari when you download a page you should be able to save as a PDF or open with a new program such as IBooks for example. Under the forward arrow drop box ( same one where you have the "add a bookmark" option) there should be an option entitled "Open In".
This would allow you to open page in a number of alternative programs and thus save file.
On my IPad there is no such option.
Any idea why and how to rectify please?

Search the app store for "web page". There are a number of apps that may fit your needs. I don't have any experience with these so I can't recommend any. Just a quick look though found "Web To PDF For IPAD" which, from the description, looks promising.

Hi Santinir-I have used apps such as Evernote where I can browse a web page and keep it in file within the app to view later. So you may have to do the reverse in order to save a web page. I am not sure if you would consider it a PDF when you save it on Evernote, perhaps others will join in.

I also note that some websites have the word "reader" within the web tool bar. When I press the reader button-it asks me where I want to open it: iBooks, Evernote or Goodreader. Some have it and some don't. I hope this helps you.

Thanks for reply. I also use Evernote and Goodreader. I am assuming you open a web page in Safari and then from there click "Open In" and select Evernote?

My problem is I used to see the option Open In, but for the last few months this has simply disappeared. Probably will have to reset defaults or something. Anyway thanks or reply
