Recently as I am trying to play games my iPad shuts down and goes back to the icons screen. Anyone having or had this problem? I still have 10 gigs of memory left and am not sure what is going on or how to correct this
issue. All help is appreciated.

My iPad just started this tonight, I'm interested in the answer too.

Hi there-

Can you tell us what iOS you are running?

Go to settings--general--about---version.

4.2.1(8C148) are the numbers listed by version.

You have not done any of the recent updates, based on the current operating system you have.

The current iOS is 5.11. Seems like you are a bit off on the updates. This may explain why your apps are crashing. Has your apps been showing any need for updates itself?

I do not know how. Please explain. I tried to connect to iTunes to update but it did not work. Any assistance is much appreciated. I have an iPad with 16 GB.

Ensure you have the latest version of iTunes (the latest is version 10.6 and you can get it from the Apple web site). Once you have the latest version installed, connect your iPad to iTunes and select "restore." Follow the prompts and when iTunes is finished, you should be on the latest version, iOS 5.1.1.

Good luck.

You will need to make sure you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer first. It is also a good idea to disable your virus protection for the duration of the update and do a backup first of your iPad. This update could take quite a while as the jump to OS5 was a big one and also depends on how many apps and data you have on your iPad.

I have given you some links below to help you.

Leelai and Mickey330 have provided the directions to get your iPad running the right way. Just be patient. It is a large update and will take some time!

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
