How do I upload a profile picture so I dont have this default one?

You can't do this from the iPad Forum app - you need to do this from a web browser preferably on your PC. When you're at ipadforums.net click on the 'User CP' (User Control Panel) button and a column will open up on the left hand side of the screen that will let you select an avatar from a list of prepared ones, or upload your own. You'll also be able to update your personal information etc.
