Push & Fetch email question

I have "push" for new data. But my iPad never seems to ding new email until I open my email screen and then it dings them all at once. Can I tweak the settings where it will ding new email when one comes in immediately? I have fetch sent to manual but think that only applies when push is off.

Push only works if you have an exchange or mobile me email account.

if not the fastest fetch is 15 minutes.

Hi there,

Am totally new to any apple products, so I need a little gentle guidance.

Could someone tell me why my gmail account only allows me to fetch and my yahoo account allows me to push?

I'm sure it's a really silly question to ask, but I have to know.
