Recently loaded updated ios5.1-help

Still learning...while reading gmail, I opened an attached document, but I can't figure out how to close the document...it won't let me go back to reading my other emails. Also, when I looked for the manual I downloaded in my books, the only thing that comes up is a copy of that attachment from my email. I can't seem to locate any of the books on my bookshelf that I had before I updated the iOS. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Just touch the screen to bring up the back button while viewing the attachment. It will appear in the top left corner of the screen.

In iBooks, make sure you have selected the correct collection. .pdf files are separate from .epubs. You may have switched over to viewing .pdfs. Just touch Collections to switch back.
