Recover password?

Coworker brought me an iPad, says forgot his pass code. Any way to recover it or just do a restore?

No backup? That reminds me I haven't backed up my ipad yet.

With an ipod, by connecting it to itunes, you can restore it to original factory condition thus wiping out the passcode. I did this for a friend when he was without an internet connection (so itunes couldn't download the software) when one of his kids friends put a pass code on his ipod.

Wiping everything is easy enough. That's second solution, right now I want a cracking solution. Somebody call ramzi The hacker. I believe this thread belongs after all in hacking section.

Wait! Backup iPad that is already locked and then restore it? Does that really work? Won't it keep it's passcode setting?

You can always access an iPad via iTunes, regardless of passcode settings. And no, the backup copies all settings/apps/data, but no passwords. So a restored iPad will always be without passcode.

If bypassing passlock is so easy, then what's the point for passlock then??

I thought only way to bypass this is to restore it to factory setting!

You can only bypass the passcode from the iTunes version, the iPad is synced with. The iPad will not backup onto other computers. So while you can use this method to get rid of your own passcode, someone who found the iPad cannot.

Ya think? You are too funny.

Silly girl ~ of course you will.

I even have a suspicion of what it might be: Your closely guarded pancake recipe. Considering, it is to die for, you clearly wouldn't want it out of or hands. :D
