Removing MDM from ipad 2

Is there a way to remove apple mdm on an ipad 2?

I'm afraid that's a question you'll have to ask your IT person. We're not here to help you circumvent the mobile device management put on a corporate or educational iPad.

We bought a bunch of used ipads and part of the lot are a number of these with mdm. Are there ways to remove this or do we have to contact the original owner or organization who used to own the ipads?

I'm afraid that you'll have to contact the original owner/organization as we can't help you here as helping you circumvent MDM restrictions on those iPads is not in accordance with our policies.
