Right click options for ipad

Have just started using an application that makes extensive use of the right click option to access menus / functions.... At the moment that seems to be impossible to achieven. I know some apps like Logmein support right clicks but don't know how the generic solution can be found

What is the application? Have you tried tapping and holding?

The application is a I house developed commercial application written in vb.net. I did see a previous tip about holding after a tap but that doesn't seem to make any difference, still looks like a left click to to the app
