MocoNews reports today that Rolling Stone will be launching an iPad Beatles app on December 1, which is designed to be a companion app to its “The Beatles: The Ultimate Album-by-Album Guide” book, the print version of which was released back in the summer. The app will cost $9.99, and as far as content is concerned, it will be identical to the print version, with 122 pages and more than 60 photographs. MocoNews says that the iPad version has been redesigned for the iPad, with the addition of 30-second sound clips of each song, as well as the facility to buy each song via iTunes. Interviews are also included from the likes of My Morning Jacket, James Taylor, Stevie Nicks, Liz Phair and Steven Van Zandt, to name but a few.
As MocoNews points out, the Beatles app is Rolling Stones first ever app, but it will most definitely not be at last, as the report also reveals that an iPad version of the regular monthly Rolling Stone print magazine will be launching some time in 2012.
