Looking for any advice really. I have an iPad 2 and an iPod touch. Both gadgets cause me the same irritating problem. When downloading any app's or podcasts, mostly large files. E.g the Oakley app and more annoyingly my new works app. It causes my Internet to stop. Not just the connection to the apple device but even the other half's netbook.

Any thoughts at all? having googled all sorts of phrases I can not find anybody with any similar issues.

Cheers

With respect to your question...how frustrating! Sometimes rebooting can do wonders. When it's convenient, unplug your modem/router and leave it off for about five minutes. Plug it back in and see if that doesn't help. If not your router may need a firmware update. You can usually find the needed info on the manufacturer's website.

Others may have some suggestions as well.

BTW, I moved your post to the iPad Help area where you’re likely to get a better response to your question.

Welcome again and enjoy!
