What's new

Safari on my ipad 2

If you're using wifi, sounds like it stopped working. First be sure it's on on your iPad. Again, assuming wifi, check and see if your computer browser works.

Could you be a bit more specific? As in, what is Safari not doing? Or, what is Chrome doing that Safari is not? Are you getting an error notice? If so, what is the notice. Or, what actions are y)u trying to do with Safari that are not working.

The more details we have, the better able we are to narrow down the problem - and hopefully help provide a solution. Thanks.

Simply , when I try to open safari the window of safari appear for 2 seconds then close ,,
I setup chrome to access to Internet , and it works good ,
The problem that I need safari because some applications turn you automatically to safari , so I can't complete with this application .

Have you tried to fully close Safari and then attempt a restart or reset? To do (apologies if you already know):

Fully Close an App: Double tap the Home button (or do a 4-finger swipe up) to reveal a row of icons in the multi-tasking bar. Press and hold an icon until they all start to wiggle and you see a red circle with a minus sign ("-") in the top left. Press the minus sign to fully close the app. Don't worry, it won't remove the app from your iPad, just from the iPad's resident memory.

Then...

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears.

If that doesn't help, try this last step...

Reset: Hold both the power and home buttons until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo then appears (the slide to unlock screen may or may not appear). Once the logo appears, release the buttons. After a time, your homescreen will appear. Please note that it may take some time for the Apple logo to appear or for your homescreen to appear (or both). This is normal. Eventually, the homescreen will appear.

In addition, try going in to your Settings app and clean up Safari by pressing "Clear History" and "Clear Cookies and Data." (under the Safari line in the left column). This might also help.

First thanks a lot for your advice ,,
Second , I did all what you told me and it still not working
I'm afraid that I have to restore my firmware , it takes a lot of time to make this restore

Before you try a full restore, try going to Settings > General > Reset, and Reset All Settings.

This will leave all your apps, data, and accounts intact; though you will need to go back through the settings and re-tweak everything.
