Safari so slow

Have found recently that Safari can be really slow to respond at times. Even when accessing bookmarks it can sometimes take what I consider to be too long to respond.
Anyone have any suggestions please?

Have you tried completely closing the app down in the multi-task bar? It fixes a whole load of problems.

Hi Tim

Yes - I am fanatical about not having lots of apps open at once, so constantly shut them down!

I have noticed that safari is slower too. It seems more apparent if the website is 'reader' compatible as load the last part in the address bar stalls for a couple of seconds before it loads.

I know this web page has advertising links but it seems pretty consistent on sites that enable 'reader'

Hi
Yes, that is what I am experiencing but have to say that when loading it can sometimes stall for 30 seconds or longer.
