I have an IPAD but don't quite know how to use it well. I am planning a trip and would like to download movies to watch on the plane. Besides buying a movie from Netflix is there another way to perhaps put on my desktop computer and sync to my IPAD?

You can buy and rent movies from iTunes and download them directly to your iPad. If you rent an iTunes movie, you have up to 30 days to start watching the movie and 24-48 hours to finish watching it, depending on where you live.

Thanks for telling me about downloading from ITunes directly. The problem if I start to watch a rented movie, I'd have to watch it within 24 hrs. Also, I want to ensure that I wouldn't be paying more to retrieve the movie if I'm on an airplane. I'm assuming it would already be downloaded on my IPAD so wouldn't be charged?

Correct. Rented iTunes movies are downloaded to your iPad and require no Internet connection to watch, once downloaded. Rental movies have embedded code that deletes them from your iPad or other device 24 hours after you tap the play button. Some countries, like Canada, allow you 48 hours to finish watching the movie, once started.

You can start the movie at home and finish it on the plane, if you wish.
