Is this possible? We have a Buffalo link station plugged into a Netgear router. Our wireless laptops access this drive using Wi-Fi without any issues. Can the I-Pod 2 with Wi-Fi and 3G handle this task?

What type of files do you want to save? Each app in the iPad has its own private file space so there is no general facility to save files.
