SD card reader not working

Hi all

I have recently bought an SD card reader for my apple devices.
If I connect it to the IPhone, it works fine and I can read everything.
If I connect it to the IPad, nothing happens. IPad just does not see it.

In the Iphone I get the prompt to ask whether I want to allow access etc.
In the Ipad it looks like I have inserted nothing.
I have reset Ipad, reset all settings, formatted the SD card to all possible formats... nothing happens.

Any idea what it going on?! Thanks!

Did you buy the SD card reader from Apple, or is this a third party accessory? If the latter, make sure it’s certified:
Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories
Uncertified accessories can cause problems like the one you’re experiencing.

I eventually found out I was quite stupid in buying the card reader, which apparently is compatible with ipad mini 1,2,3 and not 4 (which is the one I have). I was just expecting a popup saying "not supported", but it didn't and that's why I struggled to find a solution to the problem.
