I have my iPad2 email app associated to my gmail account. When trying to search words I see only the options to search From, To, Subject and all 3. Is there a way to search in the messages content?
Yep, and you found it actually. You have to select All, enter what you want to search for, and then tap the Search button the keyboard. I found that out accidentally awhile back
