"send mail as"

Has anyone got the "send mail as" feature working?

I have set this feature up in my Gmail account, logged on to m.google.com/sync on my devices and set the 'send mail as' feature to on, with the alternative email as the default, but all emails replies still come from my Gmail account and not the alternative email?

I am currently on iOS 4.2

Any assistance/comments would be appreciated

I have exactly same situation on Iphone 4 (iOS 4.3.3).
The only difference: i`m a Google Apps user.

As far as I know, there is no way to do this un unjailbroken iOS. If I find a way I will let you know.
