Setting up broadband.

I am trying to set up easy sky ping for my ninety year old mum. If we get her an iPad and arrange for a phone/ broadband package will it work or does she need a pc or laptop?

What do you mean by Sky Ping? Maybe it should be Skyping (using Skype)?

The other thing it would be useful to know is what the person at the other end will be using. Will it be an iPad, other tablet, PC etc.

Regarding your question, no you don't need a PC or laptop to use Skype on an iPad although you will need one for the initial setup of the iPad. Have a look here for a little more information, this is the create an account document but have a look down the bottom for lots of extra info.
