Welcome to the forum Rosely! Regarding your question, here are the steps to create a shared Wi-Fi connection between your Macbook Air and your iPad.

Having said that, you might want to post exactly why you want to do that as the iPad has its own Wi-Fi system so generally there wouldn't be a need to set up sharing. Do you want to share files such as music, videos, etc.? If so, all you need to do is have the latest version of iTunes installed on your Macbook Air, connect your iPad to it and follow the on-screen setup instructions. Click on the links to "iPad for Beginners" and download the appropriate user guide from the "Free iPad User Manuals" link to learn more about your new iPad.

In the meantime there are a lot of great people here willing to lend a hand anytime. Often using the Advanced Search box (at the top of every page) will lead you to the answers you're looking for. If not, feel free to post a question in the appropriate area.
