Shortcut app shortkeys

Hi: I am looking for an app that is similar to the software Shortkeys. I need an app that will allow me to put a paragraph insertion into an email with the use of a few letters, i.e. ff1 or ? I can't find anything that will allow me to do this in an AOL email or really anything without first using their note page or their email. I just want to be able to type "ff1" and the whole paragraph/letter/email that I saved pops in to ANY email.

I know I probably don't make alot of sense. Hopefully, someone understands and is able to help me.

Lori

PS I have tried Text Expander and few others with no luck

Have you tried to make a shortcut on your iPad keyboard? If you go to iPad settings/general/keyboard/shortcuts--you can add new short cuts when typing things.

P.s....I just used the shortcut to sign off on my post here! FYI! :)

As skimonkey said, these are my shortcuts which you set up in Settings > Keyboard > Shortcuts.

Hope we helped.

Yes, I know about that. I need to make a generic email with several paragraphs that I use all the time, hit a couple of keys and it comes up and I fill in the parts I need. I use to use "Shortkeys" but it doesn't work on the iPad. Thanks for your help.

That's weird, it worked for me using the shortcuts and then transferring it to my hotmail account...I used your quote and the shortcut as uff.

It works for me as well. I tested it on my Gmail account and had no problem at all?

The problem is that the iPad keyboard shortcuts do not provide for carriage returns, so the whole entry is on one line. That's clumsy for some things, impossible for others. Or am I ignorant of the secret handshake?

Couldn't you set it up for separate shortcuts? That way you can do your "return" and add that line.

In this example--I've assigned lan to a shortcut...and also used uff shortcut to get this....

This might be a possibility for the OP.

Could you tell me why I can only create 20 shortcuts on my ipad. I was under the impression I could create much more.
Thanks for your cooperation .

I didn't know there was a limit myself....though I only have about 10 shortcuts I've assigned. Maybe others know.

I have 33 shortcuts set up on my iPad and I have heard of another having over 100.......just can't see how they remember them all ;)

When an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly......see if you can add more now. If not a reset of your iPad is the next step.

Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you may see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Let us know how you go.
