Smart Cover the same for Ipad3?

Just curious, haven't seen this info anywhere... Is the "old" Smart Cover compatible with the new Ipad3?

And even if the old Smart Cover does fit the new Ipad3, are they going to do any updates to the Smart Cover?

I had a Smart Cover on my Ipad2 and the magnets wore through the spine a little and blemished my pristine Ipad2. :thumbsdown:

From the looks of it it should fit. I haven't seen any info on it either.
Guess we should wait a few days, the 3 was really just announced

I've just looked at the specs and the measurements are the same, the only difference is the depth. So I would think the smart cover will fit, although could they introduce a new design. Back covers will not be the same though.

The thickness is slightly larger so I'm thinking the covers will fit but any back cases may not. I just bought a ton of stuff for my iPad 2 so I'm not switching to 3 just yet...I'm still learning iOS & the Apple World...

When I ordered the new 3 earlier today on the Apple website it recommended the same "Smart Cover" that they recommend for the iPad2....check it out!

The thing I couldn't get any info on is if the connector is at all different or will all my chargers/cables from the 1 still work???

The specs on the Apple site list the same 30pin connector as before.
