Sound gone

Just had an issue with no sound on any app or the lock sounds ? But iPod plays fine .I deleted the last app that may have caused an issue after I did 2 hard re-sets still no good, so I did a sync to iTunes ,same out come. I turned the lock/mute option on and off a couple of times and tested the apps,after a few times my sound came back? Quite strange. Has anybody else had this ?
