Split screen

Hi. My email twitter and such have some sort if a split screen I don't know how to get rid of. I figured out on twitter a slide will get rid of one outta three 'screen' shots but how can I make my email just a screen for my message? Thank you for any help. BTW, iPad 2 16 gig wifi

If you have the iPad in landscape mode, you will always see that left bar (with your folders and such - or the emails). If you are in portrait mode, if you tap on the message, the drop-down style screen will disappear (bring it back by pressing the button at the top left).

Sorry, but that's the way the ipad/Apple is.
