Just check the sticky thread here in the hacking section to get u started. Ur answer is here in the threads. U just have to look or use the search function. But first check out sticky thread jailbreak explained. ;-)

I was definitely able to read through stickies and find all info needed to jb my iPad.... I am brand new to all of this too. Try that first and then ask specific questions if you get stuck... Most issues have already been previously addressed. Good luck!!
