Storage space question

If I go to settings/ Storage/ it says available 5gb, used 1gb.

I thought the iPad 2 was 16gb?

I know I am missing something, I must sound stupid

No such thing as stupid, just slightly confused at the outside.

Any chance of a screenshot? That might give us more clue.

You are reading the storage space on your free iCloud allocation. You get 5GB free to use in the cloud for backups etc. That is NOT the size of your internal iPad storage, which is shown in the panel above the one you are looking at.

Don't feel stoopid. It's an easy mistake to make

Cuts both ways. I've had that "Please forget I said that." moment a few times, when I realized I read the question wrong, or got it wrong one way or another, but when you can help someone with something it makes it all worthwhile. The 5Gb in this case made me think we were talking about iCloud storage, but...

Thanks to you both, I now understand and guess the screen shot wont be needed?

And for the record, and to further my ipad learning, a question.

I am used to doing p/screens on laptop, and know how to take a screenshot on ipad, but how do I attach that screenshot on Ipad forum/
