ok I did the update 8.1 on my iPhone and iPad, all went well or so I thought, till someone called hubby on his iPhone, the call came through my iPad as well.... And now when I get a reminder come up on my iPad it comes up on hubby's phone as well, what did I do to cause that to happen,
hubby when he set up the iPad used his email address instead of mine, I would like to remove it but when I try to verify the email it keeps telling me it's not connected to iCloud, but my iPad was at the time,
Also if I remove his email from my iPad will I lose anything that we downloaded by that email.... I just wish he had used my email not his as this is the cause of these hassles I think, but not sure what to do about it

Go to the Messages and FaceTime settings and sign out of your husband's iCloud account and then back in with yours. That will stop the phone call and messages crossover.

Do the same thing in Settings > iCloud. And if necessary do it in Settings > iTunes & App Store.

I'm probably missing one or two other places, but they will make themselves known, evenutally.

As for things saved, that's going to depend on what you saved and where. If in doubt, save it off the phone first before changing your iCloud stuff. Though, the only thing that should be at risk are those things that you are saving in iCloud itself. And if you bought any apps while signed into his account, they won't update.

The reason that you receive phone calls to your husband's iPhone on your iPad is part of a new feature set in iOS 8 called Handoff. Your husband set up your iPad with his Apple ID. How Handoff works when turned on is that phone calls, and SMS messages can be made and received on your iPad, relayed through your husband's iPhone as long as both devices are on the same WiFi network. To turn this feature off go to Settings>FaceTime>iOhone Cellular Calls and slide the switch to the left to turn off the feature.

As to the second part of your post, if you set up your own Apple ID, using your own email address instead of your husband's, you will not lose the items downloaded to your iPad with your husband's Apple ID but you will not be able to update apps or download anything from the purchased list associated with your husband's Apple ID. To set up your own Apple ID on your iPad, go to iTunes and scroll to the bottom of the featured page. Tap on the Apple ID and tap sign out in the pop up Bo's that appears. Now, tap the sign in box that is where the Apple ID was displayed. From the selection in the pop up box that appears, tap the Create New Apple ID button and follow the directions to set up an Apple ID of your own. With your iPad associated with your Apple ID instead of your husband's, you will not receive calls on your iPad made to his iPhone.

If you later want to update apps on your iPad that were downloaded using your husband's Apple ID, you can sign out of your account and sign in with your husband's account at the Apple ID section at the bottom of the iTunes featured page. When the sign in pop up box appears, simply enter his Apple ID and password instead of your own.

When you have to update apps purchased with your husband's Apple ID, you don't have to sign out. Tap the "Update" or "Update All" button. If there are apps that were downloaded with his ID, a popup will appear, asking for his Apple ID's password. Enter it, and they'll start loading. That's all.
