Tried to send a message today and it didn't work, it didn't leave. After several attempts to send, I tried to delete it. shut down the IPad several times. Can't unblock. Advice please. Thanks in advance. Maggietumbleweed.

We need some more info on this. Has it just started happening, we're you able to send emails before, do you get an error message and what is it your sending? Have a look at this link and see if it helps you.

Thank you for prompt reply. I am a Mac user, very familiar with MacBook and IPad2.
Have used Mail programme a lot on IPad 2, have not experienced this problem before.
Turned off IPad2 off and on several times but when I open up again and open Mail, the email I was trying to send is still there blocking the screen, I cannot delete it and it blocks access to my accounts.
Have deleted the wording of the email in question but cannot delete the template.
I am abroad and really rely on my IPad, especially right now when I have a tenant crisis!
When home in London the wonderful Geniuses at the Apple store can be contacted but can't work this problem out for the moment .

So that link didn't help you? You've turned the iPad off and no change, so I would do a reset at this point. It doesn't change anything, so nothing to worry about, it's like rebooting a computer. Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Give this a try and let us know how you go.

Thank you so very very much! Your good advice worked ... Holding the 2 buttons to reboot.
I rebooted and it worked. I got rid of the email template blocking the screen.
So glad to have found this Forum.
