Sync Problems

I cannot sync my ipad 2 running ios5.01 with my Sony laptoprunning Windows 7 Pro. When i plug in the iPad the Sony recognises the iPad.When I try to Sync files nothing happens. The other issue is that when i usethe home button on the main desktop instead of turning off the iPad it opens anotherdesktop with a search function. I am sure i never had this feature when i firstbought the iPad not sure if this is the problem.

The home button is not meant to "turn off" your iPad. When you press the home button it will close the app that you had open. Press it again will take you to your first page screen. Press one more time will take you to search fcn page. You can get the same results by sliding the pages all the way to the left.

Regarding your sync issue-can you at least check your summary page to see what you have checked in settings for syncing?

Thanks Skimonkey i did not realise the tab for syncing music and videos also synced my books and docs. I had this turned off, now that i have turned it on everything is syncing.

Glad to hear that it is working out for you now! It takes a while to become familiar with itunes and its settings.
