Syncing album artwork

I hope someone is able to help me. I have tried searching but haven't found the answer yet. I have a iPad 1 with the iOS5.0.1 and the latest iTunes.
My album artwork is on iTunes on my Mac but will not sync to the iPad. I am wondering if there is a option in settings that needs to be activated or if I'm just retarded. Any help would be great.

I am having the same problem and would love to know if you've sorted your problem out yet. I also have lost the artwork for my videos.

I have same problem. I have synced music from my iMac running IOS 5.01 and my iPad 2 running the same software version. Album artwork is on the iMac, but not on the iPad....

Sorry I forgot to tell the outcome of getting the album artwork on the iPad. After talking to a genius bar rep they said the music and folders will sync first then the artwork. In most cases for reasons unknown you have to sync the music again to get the artwork.
Also if you have albums on the iPad that aren't on your Mac you can use a program called Senuti to get them on your Mac. The first 1000 songs are free, then a 1 time charge of $18. I hope this helps out
