syncing dejaoffice from ipad to iphone, no pc involved

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, so I'll try not to break any rules! I just downloaded dejaoffice to both my ipad and my phone 4s, but I can't figure out which version of companion link I need. Again, I don't want to sync with my pc, just between the two mobile devices. Can anyone help me? Also, I don't want to use Icloud, already out of storage, so it won't back up things.

Becca, it's a great question. For DejaOffice right now, you will need to set up iCloud synchronization. For iPad and iPhone, set Contacts and Calendar to sync to iCloud. Then set DejaOffice to sync to the iCloud accounts. That will keep both in sync. There's no charge for this.

In a couple months, Fall 2012, we will be introducing DejaCloud, which allows OS-Agnostic DejaOffice to DejaOffice sync. That means DejaOffice will sync Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Memos, Journals, and Expenses from iPad, iPhone, Android, Kindle, PC and Mac. This is a service from CompanionLink and will cost $15 per quarter ($5/month) with a free 14 day trial.

Okay, I tried that. I set my phone to sync to Icloud for calendar and contacts, then tried to set my dejaoffice to sync with Icloud, and instead I got a request for my companionlink password, which I don't have. Do I need to have companionlink in order to sync dejaoffice with Icloud? Why am I getting that command? And if I do need companionlink, I don't know which plan I need to sign up for. I REALLY don't want my pc involved. And, as I said, I'm having storage issues with Icloud. Not sure what the problem is, but I was hoping not to have to use Icloud. From the dejaoffice app it looked like I could simply sign up for companionlink and sync between the two effortlessly...I appreciate any help you can give me with this. I"m lost and frustrated.
