syncing pictures, contacta etc....

hi guys

I think I'm having a blond moment, my iPad and phone are not syncing pictures and contacts, can you advise, both running iOS 8.4 iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6

What do you use to sync contacts? An email account, or iCloud?

Do you use PhotoStream, Photo Sharing, or iCloud Photo Library?

What you could try:
Make sure Contacts is enabled on both devices. Also look at your settings in Settings - Photos, enable the option you prefer, and do this on both iDevices.

Are you connected to Wi-Fi? Try opening a random website.

Also try force closing both apps (Contacts, Photos), maybe they'll start syncing again afterwards.

In the Contacts app, it's possible to "force" the app to sync. When you open it, you'll see "All Contacts" at the top left, and "Groups" next to it. Tap Groups. Then drag down the list of accounts that sync to the app. You'll see a small spinning wheel at the top:

Hopefully this will help syncing contacts.

Contacts were not set on my outlook account, you screen shot highlighted the fact to me as outlook contacts was only showing on device

Photo streaming was not turned on

There are so many things to consider on an iPad or iPhone - it's easy to miss one of them.

Keep in mind that Photo Stream is not a true sync of your photos. It only share the most recent photos with your other devices (up to 1000), and only so you have the opportunity to copy them if you want. If you reset the device those photos will not come back. They are not backed up (except on the device that originally too them, if enabled)
