Hello iPad Forum. This is Paul, 46 year old guy from Wisconsin. Lately I have been thinking about having a computer with me when I go on the road and travel. I have two reasons about why I have been thinking about this lately. First off, I want to have access to the internet at any time while I am traveling. The second reason is sort of is connected or related to the first reason, and that second reason is the hotel computer. Nowadays you can usually find a public computer available in the lobby of most hotels. There's one big problem I have with those public computers in hotel lobbies, and most have probably encountered this problem as well. Those public computers in hotel lobbies are usually a bit too slow. That annoys me a lot, which encroaches on my desire to be able to access the internet when I am traveling. At first I was thinking about getting a laptop to take with me, but then the idea of a getting a tablet entered the picture. The idea of getting a tablet was thanks to a buddy of mine that got a tablet, an iPad to be exact, from his kids for his birthday earlier this year. He really likes his iPad a lot, and says he never had used an Apple computer of any kind before. I talked to him recently about what a tablet is all about, what he needed to run his tablet, and if he felt like a tablet is worth having.
So that is why I am here and joined the iPad Forum. I am looking to get a better understand of what a tablet, mainly an iPad, is all about and what is needed to run a tablet and if it is worth having. I have read a few articles online and in magazines about tablets and what to look for in one. I went to my local Best Buy to ask questions and feel a little more comfortable with tablets. They did show me a couple of the Android powered ones (Samsung and Google Nexus) and those sound interesting. However, I do want to give the iPad equal time and an equal opportunity to show me why it's the best choice out there. So if any of you out there would be able to take a little time with me to go over the questions I have about tablets, and the iPad specifically, it will be of great benefit to me in making a decision. Thanks everybody.
