To honor the coming of one of the most anticipated gadgets of the year, Targus has released seven new cases specially designed for the iPad 3. The cases come in two categories – you can chose between “Slim and Elegant Cases” or “Higher Utility Cases”.

In the category of “Slim and Elegant Cases” you will be able to find 3 models which are very thin but durable and allow viewing from multiple angles. The cases sport a magnetic on/off utility which enable auto-sleep mode and help save as much battery life as possible. The material the cases are made of is very soft and protects your iPad from scratches and other mishaps. The exterior even provides protection against water and is very easy to clean up. Choose between calypso pink, orange peel, bone white, charcoal gray and graphite black for only $49.99.

Then there’s the “Higher Utility Cases”. First off we have the Vuscape which offers users three different ways of viewing your content on-screen, an innovative way to store your stylus, and water-resistant properties. You can get it for $39.99. It comes only in graphite black.

Then there’s the Business Folio and Stand, designed for business users. It brings a lot of room to store business cards, IDs, pens and other similar stuff. There’s also a CleanVu cleaning pad included in the deal. The Business Folio can also be turned into a stand so users are able to watch content more comfortably. The Folio is also available in black and costs $49.99.

Finally, Versavu is an incredibly popular case which allows for both landscape and portrait mode viewing. It also includes storage for a stylus. It’s available in graphite black and charcoal gray for $69.99.

At SXSW, no pop-up Apple store this year

We're at South By Southwest and Apple is not setting up a pop-up store this year, meaning the iPad3 is almost certainly not coming out this week.

Robert Scoble says he expects it the week after, and he plans to camp out and wait in line with everyone else. Great guy.
