The world can be a pretty bizarre place to live in and the feud of a Tennessee lawyer proves just that. Mister Chris Sevier is apparently suing Apple because, according to him, it’s the tech giant’s fault that he got addicted to porn. To put it in his own words - Sevier believes Apple shouldn’t be selling devices which allow unrestricted access to pornographic content.
He specifies in his 50-page complaint that he considers it to be Apple’s responsibility towards the consumer to take “the burden off of the buyers who do not want to see porn onto those who do want to see pornographic content to take the additional stepâ€.
The additional step he is referring to would imply Apple shipping the devices in some sort of “safe mode†and then customers in need of something frisky could go on and disable this feature. Thus, “pure†gadget users like Sevier here would be spared of all the grief.
The problems first started when Savier, wanting to go on Facebook, mistakenly typed “F*ckbook†instead. After logging into the site once, he became a frequent visitor of the place and could not disengage, alienating his wife in the process. From the complaint:
“The Plaintiff became totally out of synch in his romantic relationship with his wife, which was a consequence of his use of his Apple product. The Plaintiff began desiring, younger more beautiful girls featured in porn videos than his wife, who was no longer 21 ... The Plaintiff could no longer tell the difference between internet pornography and tangible intercourse due to the content he accessed through the Apple products.â€
So far Apple, did not make any comments on the lawsuit, but it’s hard to believe Savier will get anywhere with his story.
