The iPad has become an iconic device in the tech world. Not only has it spread to almost all sectors of human activity which includes education, health system, & military but it also manages to appeal to every single age group in the population. These are not just big words meant to boost its popularity as recent research points exactly to this conclusion.
New statistics coming from research firm IHS iSuppli show that Apple now officially holds 69.6% of all the global tablet market.
Compared to the first quarter of 2012, Apple grew another 11.6%. That’s pretty impressive. The firm responsible for the research stated that it’s the biggest score Apple had had since the holiday quarter of last year when it even achieved record sales. Rhoda Alexander, director for tablet and monitor research at HIS stated:
“Apple is making all the right moves to rebuild its dominant position in tablet space. The company is pushing visual performance boundaries with the new iPad, while providing valued customers with a lower-priced alternative, the iPad 2â€
Regardless of the fact that Google just launched its Nexus 7 tablet, people are apparently still loyal to the Apple tablet. Samsung managed to snatch the second place in the top with a paltry 9.2% of global market share. Amazon follows with just 1 million Kindle Fire tablets sold which makes up 4.2% of global market share. Asus and Barnes and Noble managed to sneak into the top but with meager percentages as well.
