When on Safari,Google or my gmail, when I try to go back to the sites home page using the back arrow it takes me back to every site I ever visited.I tried using the plus sign to close the page, but it does not work.

Don't quite know what you are saying here, the back arrow, if you just tap it will take you back to the last page you were on, if you long press it, it will show you a list of the last recent pages you've been to. The plus sign will load another page for you. To close the page you need to press the cross X on the tab you are on.

Just on google,T Mobile Forum and Safari, and the last page never goes away.On Google both arrows are gray and so is the Exit plus sign.ON Safari no way to exit, the Same with T mobile. I guess I just have to get used to this. I don't know why the exit plus does nothing.

It does seem very strange. Give these steps a try :
Do the four finger swipe up to reveal your multi task bar along the bottom. It will show all the apps that you have opened at one time or another. Long press one of these apps until they start to jiggle and red minus signs will appear above them all. Press all the minus signs, this will close them, not delete them. It's a good idea to do this regularly just to keep them all running smoothly, I do mine every night. Check and see if it is operating now. if not a restart is in order.

Restart: Press and hold the power off button, the one at the top right. You will see a slide appear to power off, slide this and the screen will go dark and a Whirly will appear. When the Whirly disappears your iPad is now off. Press the power button again until the Apple logo appears, this will take a few seconds and your iPad will start again. You should restart your iPad occasionally also as it will keep it running smoothly. Now see if it is operating. If not a reset is the next step.

Reset: Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. This is a reset.

When your iPad begins to behave strangely these are the first steps you should do to rectify it. Let us know how you go, good luck!!

Tried the four finger thing by putting one finger in each corner nothin tried all other combinations nothing. My son can do this on his iPhone. I just noticed that after about 10 Min. The last site on Google goes away and I am back to the home screen. There must be a way to do those without waiting 10 Min.

BTW: At the top of the page in the left corner it shows the left and right arrow, open book and the box with the arrow. Should there be an option to close the page?

The four finger up swipe is - rest your four fingers on the page with only fingertips touching the page and push up towards the top. Your page will push up to reveal the multi task bar below. The same thing can be achieved by double pressing the home button.

I've inserted a screen shot of my safari. To see it enlarged just press it and it will load on another page in a larger size. I have 3 tabs open, seagate goflex satellite, the iPad forum and iPad rules. I am on the iPad forum which is the middle tab and is highlighted slightly compared to the other 2. To the left of the words IPad Forum is a little X this is the delete tab. The + is on the right of these 3 tabs.

Sometimes an app will play up and the 3 steps I outlined in my last post are the first steps to take when something goes wrong.

Give them a go and let us know if it fixes it.

That's good now I have a reference point, where the 2 iPads are above this is a purple line, and above the purple line is the tabs for Safari :- seagate goflex satellite,Apple iPad forum etc. These are the tabs. Look to the left where it says Apple iPad Forums and you will see the X for delete and at the end of this line is the + to load another page. Is this how yours looks?

This is what I see on every site I visit. Top bar: rt. and left.arrow, bookmark icon,.box with arrow, address bar and a google address bar. On every site the + on the rt, does nothing. When I visit a site via. An icon on my home page and browse through it,there is no way to close it out. When I check my email,I van never get back to my Gmail home page without pressing the bottom button which brings me back to my home page. BTY: The only time I. See the pictures of two iPads is when I am on the forum.
